Georg Bart

Georg Bart (also Barth , * in Osnabrück ; † September 20, 1595 in Lübeck ) was a Protestant theologian and hymn author.

Life

Bart was first a preacher in Osnabrück. He stayed in Wittenberg for some time and came with Hermann Bonnus , with whom he was close friends, as a deacon at the Marienkirche in Lübeck. In 1557 he moved to the Aegidien Church . After the death of Peter Christian von Friemersheim in 1574 he also became a senior at the Lübeck Spiritual Ministry .

In 1552 he wrote a Dialogue on the Immortality of Souls , which he dedicated to Christian II of Denmark. In the same year he took part in the Osiandrian dispute with the font Gründlike Declaration up Osiandri Boock van der Justification against Andreas Osiander .

In 1578 he meets us as a hymn author with a beautiful spiritual book of psalm books from the evangelical histories, so up de sons and feasts in which the Kercken Christi are preached, with wönlick melodies and even correct summaries , to which David Chytraeus contributed a preface.
