Georg Baselt

Georg Baselt (born August 23, 1869 in Breslau , † June 20, 1928 in Berlin ) was a German actor .

Life

He made his stage debut in Torgau in 1890 . After various theater positions in Torgau (1891), Potsdam (1892–1893), Barmen (1894–1895), Wiesbaden (1896), he came to the Residenztheater in Berlin in 1898. In 1901 he was in New York, 1902 to 1903 in Stuttgart, 1905 in Berlin at the Trianon Theater , 1906 as chief director in London, 1907 at the Figaro Theater in Berlin, 1908 to 1909 at the Friedrich-Wilhelmstädtischer Theater and from 1910 to 1911 at the Neues Theater in Berlin.

From 1914 to 1916 he was apparently on tour, in 1917 at the Barnowsky Theaters, 1918 at the Lustspielhaus, 1920 at the Centraltheater, again in 1921 at the Lustspielhaus, in 1922 at the New Theater am Zoo and in 1923 for the third time at the Lustspielhaus, all in Berlin.

He was a recognized comedian. Since the beginning of the First World War, Baselt has worked as a supporting actor in several silent films.
