Georg Blume (born August 1, 1849 in Hildesheim , † July 9, 1921 in Hamburg ) was a German SPD politician and a member of the Hamburg parliament .

Life

Georg Blume attended the village school or elementary school in Rosenthal near Peine . He then did an apprenticeship as a carpenter and carpenter from 1864 to 1868 and went on tour until 1869 . He settled in Hamburg and worked in his profession until 1881. From June 1881 until his death he was a paid chairman of the main board of the central sickness and death fund of carpenters based in Hamburg. In 1885 he also became the carpenter's representative in Hamburg. From 1907 to 1921 he was the company sponsor of the Hamburg book printing and publishing house Auer.

politics

In the years 1889/90, Blume became the social democratic manager of the Hamburg constituency organization. From 1890 to 1921 he was a member of the SPD executive committee in Hamburg. In 1918 he was a member of the workers' council in Hamburg during the November Revolution .

He was a member of the Hamburg parliament from 1904 to 1910 and later from September 1913 to 1921. From 1915 to 1921 he served as Parliamentary Secretary . In 1919 he was a member of the citizens' committee .
