Georg Heintz

Georg Heintz also: Heinze, Heintze ; (* March 17, 1644 in Hamburg ; † August 24, 1683 in Leipzig ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Heintz attended the Johanneum in his hometown, studied in 1658 at the University of Wittenberg , in 1661 at the University of Jena , the University of Strasbourg and the University of Leipzig . After completing an educational tour through France , he returned to Leipzig in 1666 as a baccalaureate in the law faculty, and with the inaugural disputation De Actione Funeraria on October 17, 1666, he was awarded a licentiate and doctorate in law.

Thereupon he was admitted as a private lecturer in the law faculty of the university, in 1670 he became an associate professor and in 1679 a full professor at the law faculty of the university. Heintze, who became a lay judge at the Saxon High Court in 1676 , also took part in the organizational tasks of the Leipzig University and was rector of the Alma Mater in the summer semester of 1681 .
