Georg Heyl

Georg Paul Heyl (born April 10, 1866 in Darmstadt ; † August 2, 1942 there ) was a German pharmaceutical chemist and professor of pharmacognosy and pharmaceutical chemistry at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Life

Heyl studied chemistry at the Technical University of Darmstadt and became a member of the Darmstadt fraternity of Frisia in 1890 . In Heidelberg he was on 20 December 1894 on the Doctor of Science doctorate . From 1895 to 1920 he was head of the pharmaceutical department of the Chemical Institute of the Technical University of Darmstadt. The habilitation at the TH Darmstadt took place on June 7, 1899. In the same year he became a lecturer in pharmaceutical chemistry and got the teaching of inorganic and pharmaceutical chemistry.

On June 1, 1903, he was appointed chief medical officer and lecturing council in the Ministry of Hesse in the public health department. Furthermore, from 1903 to 1934, he headed the Pharmacognostic Institute at the TH Darmstadt. He was appointed associate professor at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences on March 27, 1909 and from June 15, 1924 he was Ministerialrat . At his own request, Heyl retired on August 1, 1931.
