Georg Mautner Markhof

Georg Josef Erwin Mautner Markhof (born June 11, 1926 in Vienna ; † May 13, 2008 ibid) was an Austrian industrialist and politician from the Mautner Markhof family .

Life

Georg Mautner Markhof graduated from high school in Switzerland in 1945, followed by a licentiate at the St. Gallen Commercial College until 1949, and then studied at the Universities of Neuchâtel and Zurich. After completing his studies, he initially worked as a journalist and in 1950 he joined the family business. In 1956 he became managing partner of Th. & G. Mautner Markhof, in 1970 managing director of the United Yeast factories Mautner Markhof and Wolfrum and from 1975 to 1996 he was chairman of the board of the Mautner Markhof group .

Politically, Georg Mautner Markhof was a member of the National Council for the FPÖ from November 5, 1990 to April 6, 1992 . In February 1993 he resigned from this and became a member of the newly founded Liberales Forum party , in which he acted as an economic advisor until he left in October 1995.

Georg Mautner Markhof was buried at the Hietzinger Friedhof in Vienna.
