Georg Michael Kurz

Georg Michael Kurz (* 15. October 1815 in Hersbruck , † 8. January 1883 in Munich ) was a German copper and steel engraver , artist and publisher .

Life

Kurz learned to draw autodidactically and became a pupil of the engraver F. Wiesner in his birthplace. The German National Library names the year 1834 as the date of activity. In 1845, Kurz became an employee of Johann Gabriel Friedrich Poppel in Munich , and later also his business partner. He also worked for Gustav Georg Lange and Franz in Munich , among others .
