Georg Muntau (born October 21, 1898 - December 28, 1970 ) was a German football referee .

Career

Georg Muntau, who worked as a dentist , probably worked as a football referee for the German Football Association from 1928 to 1941 . As a referee, he mainly whistled in Prussia and the Baltic States . When the Tschammer Cup was held for the first time in 1935 , Muntau led the game in the second round between VfB Königsberg and Sportvgg. Masovia Elck . A year later he was referee in the second round game between Viktoria Stolp and SV Hindenburg Allenstein . In the seasons 1935/36 , 1936/37 and 1940/41 he was active as a referee. As a FIFA referee, he directed all three tournament matches of the 1930 Baltic Cup . He succeeded the later DFB President Peco Bauwens , who had acted as referee the year before.

Muntau whistled a total of five internationals, three times Latvia and Lithuania as well as twice each Estonia and once Finland participated.
