Georg Schönberger (politician)

Georg Schönberger (born November 5, 1838 in Groß-Bieberau ; † August 25, 1923 there ) was a Hessian brewery owner and politician ( NLP ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Georg Schönberger was the son of the brewery owner Ludwig Schönberger (1811–1870) and his wife Elisabeth Katharina, née Rothenhäuser. Schönberger, who was a Protestant, married Elise Margarethe nee Buxmann (1842–1922). The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Georg Leonhard Schönberger (1861–1937) took over the Schönberger brewery
  • Melanie Mathes, b. Schönberger (1866–1930) married on May 14, 1899 in Groß-Bieberau with the owner of the castle mill in Ober-Ramstadt , Heinrich Mathes
  • Anna Gerlach, b. Schönberger (1871–1936), married on April 14, 1899 in Groß-Bieberau Wilhelm Gerlach (1866–1918)
  • Heinrich Schönberger (1873–1885)
  • Friedrich (Fritz) Philipp Schönberger (1875–1960)
  • Wilhelm Schönberger (1877-1960)

Schönberger was a brewery owner in Groß-Bieberau. The family-owned Schönberger brewery was taken over by the Pfungstädter brewery in 1999 , the name still lives on as a brand .

From 1878 to 1918 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 6 / Reinheim .

On November 25, 1903, he received the Knight's Cross, Second Class, of the Order of Merit of Philip the Magnanimous .
