Georg Seul

Georg Seul (born May 29, 1963 ) is a German chess player .

In 1987 he was German single champion in blitz chess ahead of Gerald Hertneck in Eschweiler , and in 1989 blitz individual champion of Rhineland-Palatinate. Rapid chess is also one of his strengths. In the rapid chess world rankings from January 2001 compiled by the world chess federation FIDE , Seul was ranked 54th as the best German. In 1999 he won the Masters in Gelsenkirchen (with normal time to think about it) .

As a teenager he played for SC Mayen and SC Kettig , where he also played in the 1st Bundesliga in the 1982/83 season . From 1985 to 1994 he played with SV 03/25 Koblenz in the 1st Bundesliga, in the 1994/95 season for Solingen SG 1868 . From 1999 to 2002 he played with SV Castrop-Rauxel in the first division, after which he moved to the Cologne Chess Friends Club . From the 2007/08 season he played at Godesberger SK (including in the 2007/08 season in the 1st Bundesliga), and for the 2010/11 season he moved back to the Kölner Schachfreunde club.

In 1993 he received the title of International Master . He achieved the norms for this in the Bundesliga chess seasons 1988/89 , 1990/91 and 1992/93 . Its Elo rating is 2372 (as of June 2020), its highest rating to date was 2460 from July 2004 to June 2005.
