Georg Stürz

Georg Stürz (born March 19, 1944 - January 9, 2009 ) was a German football player . He played for Arminia Bielefeld .

Career

Stürz did an apprenticeship as a miner in his hometown Dorsten at the colliery "Fürst Leopold", at the same time he played in the district class with SuS Hervest-Dorsten . In 1962, he underwent a change to the division Westphalia ascended RSV Meinerzhagen , which allowed him a second teaching an industrial clerk. There he drew attention to himself through good performances and was appointed several times to the Westphalia team and the national armed forces team.

In 1967 he moved on to Arminia Bielefeld, with whom he became runner-up in the Regionalliga West in 1970 and was promoted to the Bundesliga . Two years later, he was relegated to the regional league. In 1974 he ended his career. For the Arminen Stürz completed 35 Bundesliga and 110 regional league games and scored three goals. On the mediation of his teammate Ernst Kuster , he began further training at the city of Bielefeld and from then on worked in the municipal administration. His main job was for a long time in the Bielefeld Sports Office, at times he was responsible for the Seidensticker Hall .

After his career he worked for the Bielefeld company as an assistant trainer and manager. Later he was a coach at SC Verl , VfB 03 Bielefeld , FC Gohfeld and Bünder SV . Stürz died of cancer at the age of 64 .
