Georg Zimmermann (born October 11, 1997 in Augsburg ) is a German racing cyclist . He is considered a mountain specialist.

Athletic career

Zimmermann has been riding racing bikes since 2005. He made his first racing experience in 2009 at the Kids Cup in Berlin. Also from 2009 he drove for the E-Racers Augsburg club . After becoming the German junior road race runner-up in 2015, he started as a member of the German national team at the 2015 UCI Road World Championships in Richmond and finished 53rd in the road race.

When Zimmermann came of age, he signed a contract with the Felbermayr Simplon Wels team and switched to the Tirol KTM Cycling Team for the 2018 season . In 2018 he was third at the Raiffeisen Grand Prix and eighth overall in the Tour of Antalya ; at the road world championships in Innsbruck he was 14th in the U23 road race. In 2019 he finished third in the Istrian Spring Trophy and won the Trofeo Piva .

For the season 2020 changed Zimmermann Polish UCI World Team CCC for which he end of the season in 2019 as a trainee , the Tour of Slovakia and Croatia Tour had disputed.
