George miracle
George Wunder (born April 24, 1912 in New York , † December 13, 1987 ) was an American comic book artist and author. His best-known work is the adventure strip Terry and the Pirates .
Wunder grew up in Kingston , New York and studied art by distance. In 1936 he was hired by the Associated Press , where he created sports cartoons, among other things, and worked there with Noel Sickles , among others . After working for the Army from 1942 to 1946, at the beginning of 1947 he took over the strip Terry and the Pirates , which had been given up by Milton Caniff , and led it, at times supported by Frank Springer , Russ Heath , Lee Elias and George Evans , up to its discontinuation continued in 1973. After Terry and the Pirates were hired, Wunder became a painter .
