Georges Biard

Georges Biard MAfr (born November 27, 1924 in Paris , † October 31, 2003 ) was Bishop of Mopti .

Life

Georges Biard joined the order of the White Fathers and was ordained a priest on February 1, 1950 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Mopti on September 29, 1964 . The Archbishop of Bamako , Luc Auguste Sangaré , consecrated him on February 2 of the next year as bishop ; Co - consecrators were Jacques Le Cordier , Auxiliary Bishop in Paris , and Jean-Baptiste-Étienne Sauvage , Bishop of Annecy .

He attended the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council . He resigned from his office on April 12, 1988.
