The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bamako ( lat. : Archidioecesis Bamakoënsis ) is an in Mali located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Bamako .

history

The Apostolic Prefecture for the Sahara and Sudan was founded in 1868 and was promoted to the Apostolic Vicariate in 1891 . In 1901 the vicariate was renamed French Sudan and in 1921 Bamako. On September 14, 1955, Pope Pius XII. the Vicariate of Bamako with the Apostolic Constitution Dum tantis Ecclesiae to the Archdiocese.
