The Diocese of Kayes ( Latin Dioecesis Kayesensis , French Diocèse de Kayes ) is in Mali situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Kayes .

history

The Diocese of Kayes was on June 12, 1947 by Pope Pius XII. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Perutile visa from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Bamako as Apostolic Prefecture Kayes . On July 6, 1963, the Apostolic Prefecture of Kayes was by Pope Paul VI. raised to the diocese and subordinated to the archdiocese of Bamako as a suffragan .
