Joseph Dao
Joseph Dao (born June 8, 1936 in Bobo-Dioulasso , Burkina Faso , † October 23, 2011 in Bamako , Mali ) was a Malian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Kayes .
Life
Joseph Dao was ordained a priest on June 26, 1965 and was incardinated in the diocese of Ségou . Pope John Paul I appointed him Bishop of Kayes on September 12, 1978 . The Archbishop of Bamako , Luc Auguste Sangaré , donated him episcopal ordination on January 27 of the next year ; Co - consecrators were Jean-Baptiste Maria Cissé , Bishop of Sikasso , and Anselme Titianma Sanon , Bishop of Bobo-Dioulasso .
In the Bishops' Conference of Mali (Conférence Épiscopale du Mali) he was dean of the bishops of Mali and chairman of the commission for catechesis and chairman of the commission for the mass media. On June 11, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
