Georges Degen (born December 18, 1928 ; † May 5, 2008 ) was a Swiss politician of the Progressive Organizations of Switzerland (POCH).

Degen was a typesetter. He studied mathematics at the University of Zurich and graduated with a diploma.

Degen resigned from the Labor Party in 1956 . In 1969 he was a co-founder of the Progressive Organizations in Switzerland. He was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt from 1968 to 1979 and from 1984 to 1992 .

In his later years Degen defended the Swiss financial center and the Swiss banks against claims to be paid into the Holocaust Fund as compensation. In this context, he was also accused of anti-Semitic allegations.

His brother Benjamin Degen was an Orthodox communist and also a councilor.
