Georgi Grigorjewitsch Mondsolewski ( Russian: Георгий Григорьевич Мондзолевский ; born January 26, 1934 in Orsha , Belarusian SSR ) is a former Soviet - Belarusian volleyball player .
Mondsolewski won gold with the Soviet national team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 and in Mexico in 1968 . He was also twice world champion ( 1960 and 1962 ) and achieved bronze in 1956 . He was European champion in 1967 and third at the 1963 European championship .
With CSKA Moscow , Mondsolewski won the Soviet championship six times between 1958 and 1966 and the European Cup twice .
In 2012 Mondsolewski was inducted into the " Volleyball Hall of Fame ".
