Men's volleyball world championship 1962

The 1962 men's volleyball world championship took place in the Soviet Union from October 12th to 26th . The hosts won the title for the fourth time. The games were played in Moscow , Kiev , Riga and Leningrad .

The 21 participants played in the preliminary round in groups of five and four groups of four. The two best teams in each group determined the world champion in the final group, with the results of the direct duels being carried over to the final round. The third and fourth group played for positions eleven to twenty.
