Gerald Celente (born November 29, 1946 in Bronx , New York City ) is an American trend researcher , management consultant and author . He makes predictions about global financial markets as well as historical events . Celente has also appeared on media such as The Today Show , Good Morning America , CBS Morning News, The Glenn Beck Show , NBC Nightly News , The Alex Jones Show, and Russia Today .

Life

Celente was born in Bronx, New York City in 1946 and gained political experience early on by running a mayoral campaign in Yonkers, New York . He was also an executive assistant to the Secretary of the New York Senate. Celente later described this job as the worst of his life. Between 1973 and 1980 he traveled between Washington, DC and Chicago as a government affairs specialist. In 1980 he founded The Trends Research Institute , initially known as the Socio-Economic Research Institute of America , which is now located in Kingston, New York . It publishes the Trends Journal in which economic, political and other trends are forecast and analyzed.

For the 2012 presidential election in the United States , Celente supported Ron Paul .

Predictions

Since 1993 he has been making predictions that also deal with wars , economic collapse and terrorism . More recent forecasts also deal with fascism in the United States and famine and tax unrest. Some of these events should happen in 2012.
