Gerald Murray
Gerald C. Murray CSsR (born December 26, 1885 in Montreal , Canada , † June 3, 1951 ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic coadjutor archbishop of Winnipeg .
Life
Gerald Murray joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in and put on 8 September 1907, the profession from. He received on 4 September 1910, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On January 30, 1930, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Victoria . The Apostolic Delegate in Canada, Archbishop Andrea Cassulo , donated him episcopal ordination on May 7th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Vancouver , Timothy Casey , and the auxiliary bishop in Montreal , Alphonse Emmanuel Deschamps . The inauguration took place on June 4, 1930.
Gerald Murray became Bishop of Saskatoon on December 21, 1933 . Pope Pius XII appointed him on January 22, 1944 titular Archbishop of Bizya and Coadjutor Archbishop of Winnipeg.
