Gerd Lorenz

Gerd Lorenz (* 19th March 1941 in Greifswald ) is a German pathologist and emeritus professors .

Life

As the son of a Greifswald dentist, Lorenz studied medicine at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald . In 1965 he received his doctorate A for Dr. med. In the same year as a doctor approved , he went to the Greifswald pathology. In 1970 he became a specialist doctor , and in 1974 senior doctor . The PhD B to Dr. sc. med. was 1977. In 1980 he became a university lecturer , in 1985 an associate professor . After the fall of the Berlin Wall he became managing director in 1991, full professor in 1992 and director of the Institute for Pathology in 1994.

He was a board member of the German section of the International Academy of Pathology.

In the municipal elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2009, he was elected to the CDU's citizenship of the university and Hanseatic city of Greifswald, but did not take up the mandate.
