Gerhard Bauer (politician, 1940)

Gerhard Bauer (born December 13, 1940 in Vienna ; † March 23, 2007 in Neufeld an der Leitha ) was an Austrian managing director and politician ( FPÖ / BZÖ ). Bauer was a member of the National Council between 1999 and 2002 .

Life

Gerhard Bauer attended elementary school from 1947 to 1951 and then a secondary school until 1956. He then switched to the higher graphic teaching and research institute, which he graduated with the Matura in 1962 and subsequently the professional title of engineer .

Bauer worked from 1962 to 1965 as a dispatcher and then until 1968 as operations manager in a printing company. After the death of his father in 1979, Bauer took over as managing director of Bertrams KG, which manufactured products such as furnace and central heating pipes as well as prefabricated tile hot air furnace parts. Bauer was also managing director of Richartz & Hoeller Ges.mbH and board member of the Bertrams Foundation. Bauer also worked as a lay judge and was appointed to the Commercial Council in 1983 in this context .

Bauer joined the FPÖ in 1993 and became a member of the district leadership in Brigittenau . In 1994 Bauer became a member of the Vienna regional government and a delegate to the federal party conference. He represented the FPÖ from 1997 to 1999 as a district councilor in Brigittenau. From 1996, Bauer was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Chairman of the Hardware Wholesale Trade of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce . In addition, Bauer was a member of the board of the specialist list, Industry section in the Ring Freedom Economist .

Bauer represented the FPÖ between October 29, 1999 and December 19, 2002 in the National Council. He supported Andreas Mölzer in the 2004 European elections in an “Independent Committee of Persons”, but switched to the BZÖ after the FPÖ split.

Gerhard Bauer was single and had no children.
