Gerhard Felmy (born December 12, 1891 in Berlin , † December 8, 1955 in Dreieichenhain ) was a German major general .

Felmy joined the infantry regiment "von der Marwitz" (8th Pomeranian) No. 61 of the Prussian Army on March 22, 1909 , coming from the cadet corps as a charged ensign . On December 21, 1909, he received the patent for his rank and was promoted to lieutenant on August 22, 1910 . In the following years he served as a company officer and battalion adjutant. At the beginning of February 1914 he was ordered to Gotha , where Felmy completed a pilot training course.

During the First World War he worked as a fighter pilot and was deployed on the Palestine front , among others . For his achievements, Felmy received both classes of the Iron Cross on May 31, 1917 and the Knight's Cross of the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern with Swords.

After the war ended , Felmy resigned from military service on April 17, 1919 and joined the police service of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin in April 1920 .

At the end of the Second World War he was major general and, among other things, commandant of the airport area in Thorn .

He was the younger brother of Hellmuth Felmy , a German officer, most recently General der Flieger in World War II, and the uncle of the theater and film actor Hansjörg Felmy .
