Gerhard Grenzing

Gerhard Grenzing (* 1942 in Insterburg ) is a German organ builder .

Grenzing completed his apprenticeship as an organ builder with Rudolf von Beckerath organ builder in Hamburg. From 1967 to 1972 he restored historic organs on Mallorca . In 1972 he founded his own workshop in El Papiol near Barcelona . He built organs in France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Korea, Japan, Switzerland and the USA, among others. From 2006 to 2010 he was President of the International Society of Organbuilders . He is a member of the Royal Academies of Fine Arts and Sciences in Barcelona and Seville. For his achievements he was awarded the silver medal for artistic merit by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
