Gerhard Höggerl

Gerhard Höggerl (born July 3, 1943 in Bad Gastein ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and a master car mechanic. From 1993 to 1999 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

education and profession

Höggerl attended elementary school in his home town of Bad Gastein from 1950 to 1954, and in 1954 moved to the local secondary school for further schooling. He then began an apprenticeship as a car mechanic in 1959, which he completed in 1963. He did his military service between 1962 and 1963 and spent the time between 1964 and 1966 in Germany , France , Belgium and the USA . In 1970 he passed the 1970 master's examination as a car mechanic, in 1974 he went self-employed in the profession he had learned. In 1998 he was awarded the professional title of Commercial Councilor.

Politics and functions

Höggerl was involved between 1983 and 1985 and from 1990 as a member of the state guild of automotive technicians, and from 1995 to 2005 he also held the position of deputy state guild master in the state of Salzburg. He was also chairman of the master craftsman's examination commission for motor vehicle technicians, from 1993 to 2000 a member of the federal section for trade and from 2000 to 2005 education officer of the Federal Chamber of Commerce .

Höggerl began his political career in 1989 as a councilor for the city of Salzburg, where he was a councilor until 1992. On May 19, 1993, he was sworn in as a member of the Salzburg state parliament, to which he belonged for two legislative terms until April 26, 1999. Within the party he held the position of deputy chairman of the FPÖ state parliament between 1994 and 1995, and between 2000 and 2006 he was local party chairman of the FPÖ in the Parsch district of Salzburg .
