Gerhard Hörting

Gerhard Klaus Hörting (born June 29, 1972 in Graz ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and was Rector ad interim of the Pontifical Institute Collegio Teutonico di Santa Maria dell'Anima from 2007 to 2008 .

Life

Gerhard Hörting grew up in Pöllau in Styria . He studied theology and philosophy at the seminary of the diocese of Graz-Seckau . On June 24, 2001, he was ordained a priest through Bishop Egon Kapellari in Graz . Since 2001 he has been a chaplain in the communities of Gleisdorf , Markt Hartmannsdorf and Sinabelkirchen in the diocese of Graz-Seckau. He then studied canon law in Rome and was chaplain at the German-speaking community of Santa Maria dell'Anima. He also teaches Catholic religion at the German School in Rome .

In August 2007, Gerhard Hörting was the proposal from the Austrian Bishops 'Conference and with the approval of the German Bishops' Conference of the Congregation for Catholic Education for the interim rector at the Pontifical Institute Santa Maria dell'Anima in Rome until the end of the term of the late rector Johann Hörist that was appointed by June 30, 2010 at the latest. Hörting headed the institute from April 13, 2007 to January 24, 2008. Today he is a collegiate in S. Maria dell'Anima and also a diocesan judge at the Episcopal Diocesan Court.

Gerhard Hörting was awarded the Silver Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria on October 18, 2008 .

On September 11th, 2009 Gerhard Hörting received the papal decree for the appointment as " Monsignore ", chaplain of his Holiness, by Egon Kapellari , diocesan bishop of the diocese Graz-Seckau .

From March 19, 2010 to August 31, 2010 Gerhard Hörting was provisional in the parish of Fehring , from September 2010 to August 2012 pastor of the parish Graz Puntigam - St. Leopold and Graz - St. Johannes. Since September 2012 he has been pastor of the parish association of the communities Gleisdorf , Markt Hartmannsdorf and Sinabelkirchen in the diocese of Graz-Seckau.
