Gerhard Kitzbichler (born April 24, 1973 in Kufstein ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

Gerhard Kitzbichler was a member of the Austrian World Cup squad for three seasons . He contested his first race in 1995 in Lillehammer , where he was 74th of an individual. At the start of the 1995/96 season he achieved his best World Cup result in Östersund with a 31st place in the individual. He contested his last World Cup races towards the end of the 1996/97 season in Antholz .

Kitzbichler was more successful at national level. At the Austrian Championships in 1994 he won the bronze medal in the relay race with Reinhard Neuner and Josef Obererlacher , and in 1995 he won his first individual title ahead of Alfred Eder and Bruno Hofstätter . In 1996 he won the relay race with Ludwig Gredler and Reinhard Neuner, and in 1998 with Gredler and Hannes Obererlacher . In the intervening year , Kitzbichler was runner-up with Hans Achorner and Martin Pfurtscheller .
