Gerhard Möller (born October 15, 1949 in Weyher's district of Fulda ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2003 to 2015 he was Lord Mayor of the city of Fulda .

Life and work

After graduating from the Rabanus Maurus School in Fulda, Möller studied law in Giessen . In 1974 he passed the first state examination, three years later he passed the second state examination in law. From 1977 Möller worked in the administration of the Fulda district , initially as head of the school department, later as head of the legal department. Gerhard Möller is married and has four children.

Political party

1974–82 Möller was chairman of the CDU Ebersburg and 1974–77 a member of the district council of the Fulda district and deputy parliamentary group chairman of the CDU. From 1985 to 1987 he was parliamentary group leader in the Künzell municipal council .

Public offices

In 1987 Gerhard Möller was elected First District Member of the District of Fulda. In 2003 he won the election for mayor of the city of Fulda with 74.1 percent of the vote. In 2009 he was re-elected with 81.2 percent of the vote and a voter turnout of 25.6 percent. On August 14, 2015, Gerhard Möller retired from the office of Lord Mayor.

Between November 29, 2007 and 2009 as well as from 2011 to 2014, Gerhard Möller was also President of the Hessian City Council and in the meantime accompanied the office as Vice President.
