Gerhard Richter (born August 6, 1927 in Leipzig ), also called "Gerd", is a former German football player .
Career …
… in the East
Richter began playing football at the age of seven in the youth department of VfB Leipzig and remained with the club until the end of the Second World War .
After VfB Leipzig was dissolved and expropriated by the Soviet occupying power in 1945, like all civil associations, former VfB players founded the “SG Probstheida” on their old sports grounds, to which Richter was still a member until 1948.

Having reached the north of the west, he played the 1948/49 season for SC Hannoversch Münden , the 1949/50 season for ASV Bergedorf 85 in the Alster relay, in addition to the Elbe relay, one of two seasons in the second-rate Hamburg amateur league . Then, from 1950 to 1952 , he played for Bremerhaven 93 in the Oberliga Nord , one of five seasons as the highest German division.

From 1952 to 1960 he played 187 point games in the Oberliga West for Alemannia Aachen and scored 17 goals. As third place in the 1955/56 and 1957/58 seasons, he achieved the best championship performance with the team. He made his debut on August 31, 1952 (2nd matchday) in the 1: 2 defeat in the away game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen , his first goal he scored on 7 September 1952 (3rd matchday) in a 4-1 victory in Home game against Schwarz-Weiß Essen with the goal to the final score in the 77th minute.
Furthermore, he was used in ten games of the DFB Cup competition in two seasons and made his debut on August 17, 1952 in Herzogenrath in a 5-2 first-round victory over TuS Essen-West . His first of two goals in the national cup competition for club teams, he scored on October 5, 1952 in a 3-3 draw in the round of 16 against 1. FC Nürnberg with the 1-1 goal in the 55th minute. In 1960 Gerd Richter ended his career as a contract player at Alemannia Aachen. He then worked in various voluntary functions for the club, including advertising and publisher of the stadium program, member of the game committee and from 1974 as a scout .
