Gerhard Schallert (born March 20, 1975 ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .

Career

At the Junior World Championship in Harrachov in 1993 , Schallert won the silver medal in team jumping. From 1992, Schallert started in the Continental Cup (COC). In his first season in 1992/93 he reached 9th place with 87 points. The 1993/94 season began with success for him, so that on January 22, 1994 he was nominated for a World Cup jumping for the first time . In jumping in Sapporo , Japan , he reached the 45th place in the first competition and was able to win his first World Cup point in the second competition with 30th place. At the end of the season he was 94th in the overall World Cup ranking. In the Continental Cup he reached a total of 327 points and was in 13th place in the end. The following season was the most successful season in the Continental Cup for Schallert. With 632 points he finished 5th in the overall COC ranking at the end of the 1994/95 season . He was also able to win three World Cup points in the World Cup in Bischofshofen as part of the Four Hills Tournament 1994/95 and ended up in 91st place overall. The following season was less successful in the Continental Cup and also in the World Cup. It was not until the 1996/97 season that he was able to achieve good placements again. He achieved World Cup points in both World Cup competitions in which he took part and thus achieved the highest ranking of his career at the end of the 1996/97 World Cup season with 88th place. For the first time he was also able to achieve a placement in the overall ranking of the Four Hills Tournament 1996/97 . He finished in 70th place in the end. At the Winter Universiade in Muju , South Korea , he won the bronze medal on the normal hill. In the Continental Cup he finished 16th in the overall ranking of the 1996/97 season . After the season he took part in the Summer Grand Prix and then ended his active ski jumping career after finishing 52nd in the overall ranking. In 1999 he joined the Austrian team again at the Winter Universiade in Poprad, Slovakia and came second in the team competition.

His brother is the ski jumper and ski jumping trainer Richard Schallert .
