Gerhard Strunk

Gerhard Strunk (born November 19, 1935 in Creston , Nebraska ; † November 21, 2009 ) was a German educator . From 1992 to 1998 he was President of the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg .

Life

Strunk came from a Protestant pastor's family. He studied German , philosophy and Latin philology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Kiel . In 1965 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. From 1977 he was a full professor for general pedagogy with a special focus on adult education at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg. From 1992 to 1998 he was President of the Bundeswehr University. In 1998 he retired.
