Horst H. Homuth

Horst Hubertus Homuth (born October 9, 1940 in Helmstedt ; † 2004 ) was a German mathematician . From 1984 to 1991 he was President of the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg .

Life

Homuth studied mathematics at the Technical University of Braunschweig (diploma 1964). In 1967, he was philosophical Natural Sciences at the Faculty with the thesis A generalization of the regulators Falsi on operation expressions for Dr. rer. nat. PhD.

In 1971 he became scientific advisor and professor at the TU Braunschweig. In 1973 he received a professorship for mathematics and communications theory at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg. His research focus was cryptography . From 1984 to 1991 he was President of the Bundeswehr University.

Homuth was married.
