Gerhard Uebele

Gerhard Uebele (born November 18, 1962 in Gomadingen -Offenhausen) is a violinist for new improvisation music . He also works as a music journalist.

life and career

Uebele studied musicology , philosophy and education . Since the 1980s he has performed regularly with leading representatives of free jazz and improvised music. So with Sirone , Tristan Honsinger , Phil Minton , Harri Sjöström and Ernesto Rodrigues . He also worked for the New Dresden Chamber Music . In 2009 he conceived and organized the Festival Violinale Berlin in cooperation with the Exploratorium Berlin. His texts on music have appeared in, among others, the positions , the Jüdischen Allgemeine and the ring discussions for group improvisation.

Gerhard Uebele lives in Berlin.
