Kai Fagaschinski

Kai Fagaschinski (born October 6, 1974 in Dannenberg (Elbe) ) is a German jazz clarinetist, improvisation musician and composer.

Fagaschinski, who lives in Berlin, learned to play the clarinet autodidactically . He deals with noise phenomena in music and has mastered the multi-sound technique on the clarinet . He appears as a soloist and as a member of several ensembles.

With Klaus Filip he forms the duo Los Glissandinos , with Michael Thieke the duo The International Nothing . He works in other duo formations with Burkhard Stangl , Chris Abrahams and Bernhard Gál . With Margareth Kammerer , Christof Kurzmann and Michael Thieke he forms the group The Magic ID , with Gunter Schneider and Barbara Romen the group here comes the sun . From 2000 to 2006 he led (from 2002 with Christof Kurzmann) the experimental music series Raumschiff Lemon in Prenzlauer Berg . In 2018 he is a member of the Splitter Orchestra .

With compositions Fagaschinski u. a. at the Donaueschinger Musiktage (2007), at Jazz à Mulhouse (2007), the Ftami Festival in Kyoto and Tolio in 2008, at Experimental Intermedia in New York and the Seattle Improvised Music Festival 2009.
