Dave Bennett (guitarist)

Dave Bennett (* 1973 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian jazz - guitarist ( classical and jazz guitar ) and performance artist .

Bennett studied classical guitar and electroacoustic composition at McGill University with Alcides Lanza , Osvaldo Budon and Laurie Radford . He participated in international festivals in Canada and the USA, toured with the Jazz Pharmacy group and took part in dance projects. In Montreal he had a weekly radio show. As a scholarship holder he studied at the Banff Arts Center , the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and the Akademie Schloss Solitude .

In 1998 he moved to London, where he worked on the Birmingham Electro Acoustic Sound Theater (BEAST) project, with which he performed at Kampnagel , among others . The following year he participated in an installation in a slate mine in North Wales, Wales. He has lived in Berlin since 2003.

Bennett worked with Burghard Beins , Andrea Neumann , Jason Forrest , Ignaz Schick , Tony Buck , Alesandro Bussotti , Michael Thieke , Derek Shirley , Gerhard Uebele , Merle Bennett , Michael Griener , Jonty Harrison , Bruce Penneycook , Chris Dalgrain , Sabine Vogel , Hector Moro , Thomas Ankerschmidt , Robin Hayward and Kai Fagaschinski together. He is a member of the Hotel Guest , Eric & Me and Television Workshop groups, among others .
