Gerhard Vilsmeier

Gerhard Vilsmeier (* 1958 in Munich ) is a German journalist and communication scientist . He teaches at several universities ( ISM Dortmund and Munich, University of Hanover , University of Passau ) as a freelance lecturer for PR , internal and global communication.

Life

After graduating from high school, Vilsmeier studied history and communication sciences at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the University of Vienna . He completed his studies in 1984 with a Magister Artium , and in 1986 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the subject of anti-Semitism in Austria and Eastern Europe between 1933 and 1938 , which was unwanted topicality in the Waldheim affair and was even reviewed by Thomas Rothschild . In addition to his studies, he worked as a freelance journalist and editor , primarily for Bavarian Broadcasting (radio and television).

In 1987 Vilsmeier started working at Siemens AG , among other things as a consultant for AV media , then as editor-in-chief of the employee magazine SiemensWelt , later as head of internal communication and finally as head of marketing and communication at Siemens Real Estate. Since October 2009 he has been running his own agency ie Communications with a focus on internal and external communication. He is also active in PR consulting and gives guest lectures at conferences and congresses. In the German Public Relations Society (DPRG), Vilsmeier held various positions on the Presidium and Board of Directors between 2005 and 2016. He is chairman of the jury for the inkometa , a prize for successful internal communication. Vilsmeier is a member of the Bavarian Association of Journalists .

Since 2004 he has also been the first chairman of the FC Schweitenkirchen sports club.
