Gerhard Vogel (writer)

Gerhard Vogel (born June 20, 1921 in Stolzenberg / Gera district ; † January 28, 2012 ) was a German writer .

Life

Gerhard Vogel grew up on his parents' estate . He took as a soldier of the Wehrmacht at the World War II in part and got into captivity . After his return to Germany in 1945 he was trained as a " new teacher " in the Soviet zone . From 1946 he was a teacher at a school in Lumpzig near Schmölln in Thuringia and from 1974 to 1986 at a polytechnic high school in Jürgenstorf . After his retirement he lived in a senior citizens' residence in Waren from 2000 . Since 2006 he has been based in Neubrandenburg .

Gerhard Vogel was the author of a number of children's books , most of which were created in collaboration with his wife Christiane Vogel . He also made contributions to the radio . Since 1961 Vogel belonged to the writers' association of the GDR .
