Gerhard Wacke

Gerhard Gustav Theodor Wacke (born July 2, 1902 in Goczałkowice-Zdrój , † February 10, 1976 in Hamburg ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

He attended elementary school and the reform high school for the Holy Spirit in Breslau . After graduation in 1928 to Dr. iur. he was from 1930 financial assessor and Councilor in financial management Wroclaw. In 1932 he received the Venia Legendi for public law at the University of Wroclaw . From 1933 to 1935 he was a lecturer at the University of Breslau. In 1939 he was appointed lecturer at the University of Wroclaw. In 1940 he held a chair in Jena . In 1941 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Jena . From 1942 to 1945 he did military service in the Wehrmacht . From 1946 to 1948 he was an administrative law adviser for administrative law in Jena. In 1949 he was a lecturer at the University of Würzburg . In 1950 he was at the University of Marburg . From 1950 to 1953 he was a councilor in Marburg . In 1951 he was appointed honorary professor for public law at the University of Marburg. From 1953 to 1955 he was a judge at the Higher Administrative Court in Münster . In 1955 he was appointed full professor for public law at the University of Hamburg and director of the Institute for Tax Law. In 1970 he retired .

Gerhard Wacke was with Dorothea, geb. Butcher, married. The marriage had three children, including the legal scholar Andreas Wacke .
