Gerhart Nebinger

Gerhart Ernst Arthur Nebinger (born December 22, 1911 in Stuttgart ; † July 7, 1997 in Neuburg an der Donau ) was a German archivist and genealogist .

Life

Nebinger was from Swabia and came from Württemberg. After attending school, he started an archivist training and in 1937 joined the Bavarian state archives service. Most recently he was State Archives Councilor at the Bavarian State Archives in Neuburg . He researched and published mainly on the territorial history of Bavaria and worked as a genealogist and heraldist in numerous associations of which he was a member. For example, he was the first chairman of the Bavarian State Association for Family Studies e. V. active.

In addition to Franz Josef zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, he worked on the genealogical manual of the nobility enrolled in Bavaria from the second volume in 1951.

At the age of 85 he wrote down his memory in the following essay: My way to genealogy . In: Between construction site and archive , Stuttgart, 1995. pp. 127–133.
