Gerlind from Alsace
Gerlint of Alsace also Gerlinde / Gerlindis Eticonides or of Neustria (* around 679, † around 715) was a daughter of Odo the Great and Adela of Austrasia and Duchess in Alsace . She is a blessed of the Catholic Church , her feast day is December 3rd .
Life
Duke Adalbert in Alsace from the noble family of Etichonen (683–722 / 23) was married to Gerlinde for the first time. At this time, the St. Stephen Foundation in Strasbourg can be traced back. Three of her daughters were monasteries as abbesses before: Attala (also Athalia; * 690, † 741) at St. Stephen at Strasbourg, Eugenia († 735) in the High Castle and Gundelinde (* around 680 to 690, † after 720) in Niedermünster . Saint Odilia (* around 660; † 720) was her sister-in-law.
After her death in 715, she found her final resting place in St. Stephen's Church in Strasbourg. Details from her life are still not known.
