Germán Sánchez ( Germán Fortino Sánchez Cruz; born July 31, 1967 in Zimatlán , Oaxaca ) is a former Mexican walker who mainly started walking 50 km .

At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 , he came in 21st place, and at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​he was disqualified.

In 1993 he was twelfth at the World Championships in Stuttgart and won silver at the Central America and Caribbean Games . At the 1995 World Cup in Gothenburg, he did not reach the goal.

In 1996 he won the Ibero-American Championships in 20 km walking and finished 18th at the Olympic Games in Atlanta .

At the World Cup in 1997 in Athens and at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he was disqualified.

In 2003 he won the Pan-American Games in Santo Domingo and was twelfth at the World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis .

With a 17th place at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he ended his international career.
