Gert Schäfer (political scientist)

Gert Schäfer (born April 16, 1941 in Stuttgart ; † October 16, 2012 in Hanover ) was a German political scientist .

Schäfer studied political science , sociology , economics , philosophy , history and German at the universities of Tübingen and Frankfurt am Main and received his doctorate in 1973 at the then Technical University of Hanover and then worked as an academic adviser at the seminar for the science of politics . In 1977 he completed his habilitation there. From 1982 he was Professor of Political Science at the University of Hanover with a focus on political theory and political sociology .

Schäfer was editor of the magazine links from 1970 to 1975 .
