Gertrud Friedersdorff

Gertrud Friedersdorff (* December 8, 1882 in Wirsitz , Kreis Wirsitz , District of Bromberg ; † after 1947) was a German portrait and landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

life and work

Friedersdorff, daughter of the land registry director of the district of Dramburg , Konrad Friedersdorff (* 1846), studied painting as a private student of the Düsseldorf painters Willy Spatz , Wilhelm Fritzel and Wilhelm Schneider-Didam . She temporarily lived at the same address in Düsseldorf with her brother, the portrait and landscape painter Robert Friedersdorff . She mainly created watercolors , often with motifs from the Bergisches Land . In 1910 she was represented at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition , in 1913 and 1915 at the Great Art Exhibition in Düsseldorf , and in 1947 at an exhibition of the "Wernigerode Artists Colony".
