Gesine Schröder (translator)

Gesine Schröder (* 1976 ) is a German translator.

She studied in Kiel and Berlin . At times she lived in the USA, Australia, India and England. She has been translating fiction , non-fiction , youth literature and children's books from English into German since 2007 . Gesine Schröder has repeatedly received grants from the German Translator Fund, including the “Johann Joachim Christoph Bode Scholarship”, in which young literary translators and experienced mentors work together.

Schröder is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ, for which she has been working on a voluntary basis in the editorial team of the trade journal Translate since 2013 . She lives in Berlin.
