The grain AG is a globally active company in the areas of agricultural trade, food production and fertilizer wholesalers.
history
Getreide AG emerged from two traditional agricultural trading companies. 1872 founded Christian Sieck (1850-1935) in Schleswig The Chr. Sieck to trading of grain and animal feed . Peter Kruse (1873–1951) founded a grain business in Kappeln in 1898 , which was followed by others in Eckernförde , Kiel , Hamburg and Lübeck . Even then, this company had international trade relations and a. to Russia. In 1921 the company was renamed Getreide AG . In 1982 the two companies merged. Expansion into the new federal states and Eastern Europe began in 1990.
On October 13, 2014, it was decided to sell the agricultural trading division to DAVA AGRAVIS International Holding A / S (a joint venture between the Danish agricultural companies Danish Agro and Vestjyllands Andel with Agravis Raiffeisen ). The sale took place on February 1, 2015 with legal effect.
Products
The trading of agricultural products forms the core of the business activities of Getreide AG. This includes the purchase, storage, health maintenance and sale of grain, pulses and oilseeds and the trade in animal feed , mineral fertilizers , pesticides and tools used in agricultural production. In addition, there is the production of rapeseed oil , food , malt , seeds and animal feed.
