Gevezin is a district of the municipality Blankenhof in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is administered by the Neverin Office based in the municipality of the same name .

Geography and transport links

Gevezin is located southwest of the core town of Blankenhof. The B 104 runs north-east, east, the 430-hectare extend the conservation area Malliner stream and chain of lakes (see list of protected landscape areas in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ).

Gevezin village church

The late Gothic stone church Gevezin was built on older remains. The west tower with its stately half-timbered roof turret dates from 1786. The flat beamed ceiling is painted; the pulpit altar dates from the 18th century. A field stone wall with brick pillars and a picket fence is part of the monument. The church belongs to the parish of Penzlin-Mölln.

Gevezin mansion, until 2012 Indian museum

The Gevezin manor was built in 1912 as a single-storey plastered building in Art Nouveau style with a central risalit , basement and mansard roof according to plans by Giesecke. The property was acquired by the collector and author Karl-Heinrich Gehricke and served as an Indian museum until 2012 . The park is part of the architectural monument.
