Ghelamco
The Ghelamco Group is an international real estate project development company based in Ypres, Belgium . The company operates abroad through branches in Poland ( Warsaw ), Ukraine ( Kiev ) and Russia ( Moscow ). The Ghelamco Arena in Ghent , Belgium is named after the real estate company. In Central and Eastern European countries , Ghelamco is one of the largest developers of office properties.
history
The company was founded in 1985 by Paul Gheysens, who is still managing director and majority shareholder today. Ghelamco initially worked as a general contractor in the construction of industrial plants. The business activity was later expanded to include office and residential construction and the assumption of property developer functions. At the beginning of the 1990s Ghelamco developed its business in Poland; here Ghelamco is one of the largest real estate developers today. Ghelamco has been active in the logistics real estate market with subsidiaries in Russia and Ukraine since 2005 .
In Belgium, Ghelamco developed several residential complexes with single and multi-family buildings as well as commercial units in Brussels , De Panne , Knokke-Heist and Leuven . Properties in Oostduinkerke , Gent and Wavre are in planning or construction. In 2013 the naming rights to the stadium in Ghent were sold to the Ghelamco Group . Since then, the sports facility has been called Ghelamco Arena .
Since 1991 Ghelamco has been developing mainly high-quality office properties through its Polish property developer Ghelamco Invest and the construction company Ghelamco Polska . Preferred locations are the Warsaw districts of Mokotów , Stadtmitte and Wola . The most important and panoramic buildings are the Warsaw Spire as well as the Warsaw Unit and The Warsaw Hub, which are currently under construction . The Warsaw Senator Office Building is an office building built under monument protection regulations . Ghelamco is also investing in Katowice and Wroclaw .
Awards
The company has received numerous awards and certification as a real estate developer, especially in Poland. An office project built by Ghelamco was the first building in Poland to receive BREEAM certification.
Among other things, the developer or its building has received awards from specialist media and organizations such as the Belgian Chamber of Commerce in Poland, the trade journal Builder , the Contract Design Magazine , the CEE Investment & Green Building Awards , CEE Real Quality Awards , the Construction & Investment Journal , the Environmental, Social and Sustainability Award - ESSA , the EuropaProperty , the Eurobuild Awards, the European Property Awards , the International Property Awards , the Property Awards London , the Towarzystwo Urbanistow Polskich and the Warsaw Business Journal .
