Gilbert Schmid

Gilbert Schmid (* 1949 in Ulm ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and gynecologist.

Life

From 1969 to 1983 he studied theology , philosophy , educational science , psychology and medicine in Tübingen , Rome , Würzburg , Düsseldorf and Zurich . From 1975 to 1983 he was a marriage, family and life advisor in the diocese of Würzburg . From 1983 to 1988 he worked as a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics at the Elisabeth Hospital in Rheydt and from 1988 to 1992 as a senior physician at the women's clinic. In 1992 he became senior physician at the gynecological clinic in the Ebersberg district hospital . From 1992 to 1993 he was senior physician in the gynecological and obstetrical department at the Munich Clinic Schwabing .

From 1993 to 2001 he taught as a professor for pastoral psychology and sociology at the theological faculty in Paderborn , was also senior physician at the gynecological clinic in the St. Josef Brothers Hospital in Paderborn and had a teaching position for gynecology and obstetrics at the nursing school. From 1995 to 1997 he was a lecturer in pastoral psychology at the Ruhr University in Bochum . From 1999 to 2001 he was head of the postgraduate course in Caritas Science at the Theological Faculty in Paderborn.

From 2001 to 2014 he was established in Munich as a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, psychotherapist and sex therapist.

Since 1985 until today he has been teaching as a lecturer in pastoral psychology at the supra-diocesan seminary Burg Lantershofen in the diocese of Trier.

Since 2015 he has been the cultural city guide for Munich .
